Young Jackson Man Found Dead in Driveway from Gunshot Wounds

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — The Aiken County Coroner’s Office and Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fatal shooting that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old Jackson man early Tuesday morning.
Deputies from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired in the 5000 block of N. Silverton Street at approximately 2:11 a.m. on July 29, 2025. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Dequon Hill unresponsive, seated inside his vehicle in the driveway of his residence. Hill was pronounced deceased at 3:40 a.m. due to multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted later this week in Newberry to determine the precise cause and manner of death. The investigation remains ongoing, with no suspect information released at this time.
