Antelope Valley, CA – July 3, 2025 – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Antelope Valley Area Office has released details regarding a devastating multi-fatal traffic collision that occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The crash took place at approximately 4:25 p.m. on State Route 138 at 110th Street West, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and leaving a fourth in critical condition.

According to the CHP report, the driver of a Chevrolet Colorado carrying three passengers—two of whom were juveniles—proceeded from a stop sign at 110th Street West and attempted to cross SR-138. In doing so, the vehicle moved directly into the path of an oncoming Dodge Ram 3500 traveling eastbound at speed. The impact was catastrophic.

Three of the four occupants in the Chevrolet Colorado were pronounced deceased at the scene, including one child. The surviving juvenile passenger was airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center, where emergency surgery was performed. Their condition remains critical at this time.

The driver of the Dodge Ram 3500, who sustained only minor injuries, was also taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment.

In the wake of the tragedy, State Route 138 was shut down in both directions between 110th Street West and 90th Street West for approximately four and a half hours as law enforcement conducted an on-scene investigation. Investigators reviewed video evidence from a nearby electric vehicle’s dashcam, which confirmed the sequence of events and determined that the driver of the Dodge Ram was not at fault.

No criminal charges will be filed in relation to the incident.

“This is a heartbreaking and unimaginable loss,” said a representative of the California Highway Patrol. “Our entire department extends our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. We also offer our prayers for the continued recovery of the surviving juvenile.”

As the community reels from the aftermath of this tragic accident, the CHP reminds drivers to always exercise extreme caution at rural intersections, particularly on high-speed corridors such as SR-138. The agency continues to stress the importance of defensive driving and situational awareness in order to prevent future tragedies.

Names of the victims have not yet been released, pending family notification. Grief counselors are expected to be made available in local schools and community centers to support those affected.

The CHP Antelope Valley Office will continue to assist the families and community as they mourn and heal from this devastating event.
