Teen’s Life Cut Short in Clover Shooting: Suspect Charged

YORK COUNTY, SC – The York County Coroner’s Office has identified 17-year-old Nathan Martinez as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in Clover, South Carolina, over the weekend. The incident took place on Paddlers Cove Drive, near Lake Wylie, between 11:30 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, and 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after midnight, but Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene due to a gunshot wound.
The York County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 19-year-old Noah Immanuel Walter, a resident of Clover, in connection with the shooting. Walter faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was taken into custody on Saturday morning and is currently being held without bond at the York County Jail.
Investigators have not yet disclosed the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the relationship between Martinez and Walter remains unclear.
