Mother and Toddler Daughter Fatally Stabbed in Queens Home, Suspect Hospitalized

In a heartbreaking incident in Queens, New York, a mother and her young daughter were fatally stabbed in their Ridgewood home. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has identified the victims as 41-year-old Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita and her 2-year-old daughter, Analiz Cruz.
The attack occurred on Saturday, July 19, 2025, shortly after 7 p.m. at a residence on Forest Avenue near Menahan Street in Ridgewood. Responding to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress, police arrived to find both Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita and Analiz Cruz suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest. Emergency medical services rushed the victims to Elmhurst Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
A 54-year-old man, identified by police as the suspect, was also found at the scene with stab wounds to his chest. He was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst and was last reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have not released the suspect’s name but have confirmed that he was known to the victims. The NYPD is investigating the incident as a possible domestic-related murder-suicide attempt, noting that the victims and the suspect are related.
