In a heartbreaking incident in Queens, New York, a mother and her young daughter were fatally stabbed in their Ridgewood home. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has identified the victims as 41-year-old Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita and her 2-year-old daughter, Analiz Cruz.

The attack occurred on Saturday, July 19, 2025, shortly after 7 p.m. at a residence on Forest Avenue near Menahan Street in Ridgewood. Responding to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress, police arrived to find both Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita and Analiz Cruz suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest. Emergency medical services rushed the victims to Elmhurst Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

A 54-year-old man, identified by police as the suspect, was also found at the scene with stab wounds to his chest. He was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst and was last reported to be in stable condition.
