Lyft Driver Fatally Shot by Passenger in Panama City Beach: 17-Year-Old Brayden Raul Gomez Arrested for Murder

In the early hours of Saturday, May 24, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Panama City Beach, Florida, resulting in the death of a Lyft driver and the swift arrest of a teenage suspect. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to a 911 call at approximately 2:24 a.m., reporting a shooting near the intersection of Wildwood Road and Emerald Cove Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim lying in the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter.

Following a brief search, authorities apprehended 17-year-old Brayden Raul Gomez of Bay County on Dorothy Avenue.
