It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear colleague and friend, Jonathan Benavides, the Netherlands Director of the North American Hispanic Association (NAHA).

Jonathan was more than a leader; he was a passionate advocate, a tireless worker, and a beacon of inspiration for everyone privileged enough to know him. His untimely departure has left a void not only in our organization but in the hearts of all who were touched by his warmth, vision, and unwavering dedication.

As NAHA’s Director in the Netherlands, Jonathan was instrumental in strengthening our mission of cultural unity, empowerment, and advocacy for the Hispanic community. His leadership brought vitality to our programs, and his ability to bridge cultures with grace and authenticity was unparalleled. Jonathan believed in the power of community and was a fierce champion for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

But beyond his impressive professional achievements, Jonathan was a beloved friend, mentor, and confidante.
