On the evening of Wednesday, May 28, 2025, a devastating accident occurred at the intersection of Alewive Road (Route 35) and Walker Road in Kennebunk, Maine. At approximately 6:00 p.m., 19-year-old Cameron Mahoney of Wells was riding his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Alewive Road when a 2018 Honda Fit, driven by 28-year-old Emma Clough of Sanford, attempted to turn left onto Walker Road. The vehicles collided, resulting in fatal injuries to Mahoney. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by bystanders and emergency personnel, Mahoney was pronounced dead at the scene.
