Brothers Arrested, One Suspect at Large After Violent Double Stabbing at Quinceañera

Heber City, UT – A joyous quinceañera celebration at The Junction Restaurant turned tragic on Sunday, July 20, 2025, when a violent double stabbing left two men injured. The Heber City Police Department has arrested three brothers in connection with the attack, issued a warrant for a fourth suspect, and is actively seeking to identify a fifth individual involved in the assault.
Officers were called to The Junction Restaurant at 1268 S. U.S. 189 around 11:40 p.m. after reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they encountered a large crowd and found two victims: a 34-year-old man with a critical stab wound to the abdomen and a 21-year-old man with a stab wound to the leg. The older victim was airlifted to a Salt Lake City hospital in critical condition, while the younger was treated at the scene and later released.
Surveillance footage revealed that five men forcibly entered the restaurant, where the private quinceañera was being held after hours. The video reportedly shows Jose Manuel Gervacio, 20, aggressively approaching a victim, removing a weapon from his pocket, and making rapid motions suggestive of stabbing. He was accompanied by Cristian Gervacio, 18, David Gervacio, 22, and Johnny Gervacio, 28, along with an unidentified Hispanic male wearing dark clothing and sunglasses. The group is said to have acted in concert to confront and assault the victims before fleeing in a black Honda.
On Monday, July 21, 2025, the Heber City Investigations Unit, in coordination with the Heber City and Wasatch County Joint SWAT Team, executed a high-risk search warrant at a residence at 1224 E. 110 North. The operation involved approximately 20 officers, drone units, and command center personnel. After a brief standoff, during which SWAT destroyed home security cameras to compel compliance, three suspects—Cristian, David, and Johnny Gervacio—were arrested. Six individuals, including a juvenile, were detained during the search, but only the three brothers were taken into custody.
During the search, officers recovered a $5 bill near Cristian Gervacio’s identification documents, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Suspected blood spatter was also found in a vehicle at the residence, which was towed for further processing. Clothing matching that worn by David Gervacio in the surveillance footage was also located.
The three arrested brothers face charges of attempted murder and aggravated burglary (first-degree felonies), aggravated assault (third-degree felony), and misdemeanor charges of assault, obstruction of justice, and criminal trespassing. Cristian Gervacio faces an additional class A misdemeanor charge for possession of a controlled substance. Prosecutors are seeking gang enhancements, as at least three of the suspects are reportedly affiliated with violent gangs, including the Latin Kings and Surenos. Jose Manuel Gervacio, identified as the primary assailant, faces identical felony charges, with an arrest warrant issued in 4th District Court. He remains at large, believed to be evading arrest with assistance from family members, and is considered armed and dangerous.
Police are actively working to identify the fifth suspect, described as a Hispanic male in dark clothing and sunglasses. Photos of both Jose Manuel Gervacio and the unidentified suspect have been released to the public to aid in the ongoing manhunt. Authorities note that multiple witnesses have declined to provide written statements, citing fear of retaliation, which underscores the potential threat posed by the suspects’ gang affiliations.
The Heber City Police Department urges anyone with information about Jose Manuel Gervacio’s whereabouts or the identity of the fifth suspect to contact them at (435) 654-3040. The investigation remains ongoing, with charges listed as allegations, and all arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
