The peaceful pre-dawn silence of a Lanarkshire village was shattered by violence this week, culminating in a murder investigation and a community in shock. A man who tragically lost his life following a brutal incident has now been formally identified by police as 30-year-old Scott Boyd.

In the early hours of Wednesday, August 27, the calm of Braeside Crescent in Kirkmuirhill was broken. Police Scotland received an urgent report shortly before 5:00 a.m., alerting them to two injured men at the location.
