The incident occurred primarily in the valet area outside the resort, with some reports indicating it may have extended to other parts of the property, including the north side of the parking lot. According to Reno Police spokesperson Chris Johnson, officers located the suspect, an adult male, within four to five minutes of the initial 911 call. An exchange of gunfire ensued, during which the suspect was shot by police, taken into custody, and transported to a local hospital. The suspect’s identity and condition remain undisclosed.

The exact number of victims and the severity of their injuries are still being determined as authorities work to account for all individuals affected.
Multiple law enforcement officers involved in the response sustained minor injuries, though none were related to gunfire. The Sparks Police Department has taken the lead in investigating the officer-involved shooting, while Reno Police and other agencies continue to process the scene and gather evidence.
