Gervais Mourns Young Life Lost in Tragic Butteville Road Head-On Crash

WOODBURN, OR — A devastating two-vehicle head-on collision on Saturday night, July 26, 2025, near Woodburn resulted in the death of Angel Moreno-Cano, a 26-year-old resident of Gervais, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded just before 9:00 p.m. to a report of a severe crash in the 14000 block of Butteville Road NE, approximately halfway between Woodburn and Gervais. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered two vehicles with significant damage from the collision. Angel Moreno-Cano was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The second driver, whose identity has not been released, sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene. Authorities noted that this driver has been cooperative with investigators, and no charges have been filed as of now.
The Marion County CRASH Team is actively investigating the cause of the collision, which remains under review.
