Maquoketa, Iowa – The Maquoketa community mourns the heartbreaking loss of Drake Isaac Tallman, who passed away on July 1, 2025, at just 18 years old. A vibrant soul with a kind heart and a spirit that touched many, Drake’s passing leaves a deep void in the lives of their loved ones and the community that watched them grow.

Drake was more than a student or a friend—they were a presence. Whether sharing a laugh, offering a listening ear, or simply being present in quiet solidarity, Drake had a way of making people feel seen and valued. Born and raised in Maquoketa, Drake was surrounded by love from an early age. They are deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by their parents, Bret and Sarah Tallman (Woodrum), and siblings Syfer and Rinoa Tallman, who were their greatest joys and closest companions. Together, the Tallman family shared countless memories—from adventurous road trips and backyard games to quiet evenings filled with stories and laughter.

Though Drake’s time here was brief, the impact they had will echo for years to come. Teachers recall their creativity and sincerity. Friends describe a person who could lift a room with a smile. A visitation to celebrate and honor Drake’s life will take place on July 11, 2025, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Drake’s life are invited to attend and share memories, comfort one another, and celebrate the beautiful life that was.
