It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Richard Ehmen, age 68, of Cylinder, Iowa, who died on July 2, 2025, at the Titonka Care Center, surrounded by compassion and care in his final days. Though his life came to a peaceful close, the memories he leaves behind remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Born in 1956, Paul was a lifelong Iowan, deeply rooted in the rural values of family, hard work, and community. He spent much of his life in Cylinder, a place he proudly called home. A quiet and humble man, Paul found joy in the simple things—watching the changing seasons on the prairie, working with his hands, and sharing a laugh with family and friends.

Paul’s life was marked by resilience, kindness, and an unwavering loyalty to those around him. He was known for his steady presence, his gentle demeanor, and his ability to listen more than he spoke. He was someone others could rely on—a neighbor willing to lend a hand, and a friend who never sought attention but always offered support.

Though not one to seek the spotlight, Paul left an impression wherever he went. He took pride in living a life of honesty and dignity, and he earned the respect of those who had the privilege to cross paths with him. His quiet strength and unspoken wisdom will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him in the Cylinder community.

Per Paul’s wishes, no formal services are planned at this time. The family is being cared for by Lentz Funeral Home of Algona, and they express gratitude to all who have offered support, prayers, and kind words during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers or services, those wishing to honor Paul’s memory are encouraged to take a quiet moment to appreciate the beauty of nature, extend a helping hand to a neighbor, or perform a small act of kindness—just as Paul would have done.
